I’m so proud of Gotham for stating its clear and powerful position against racism, and for encouraging and challenging us to join in the quest for a better, fair and loving society.
I, for one, gladly accept the challenge.

In the most direct terms, Gotham stands firmly against racism and hate and in support of respect, kindness, and inclusion. We also recognize our collective responsibility to do better. We must take concrete steps to combat systemic and institutionalized racism.

We stand with all of our members in understanding that we each need to look deeper into ourselves and do more to recognize and eliminate racial injustice and bias against black and brown people. Words are not enough. We must figure out how to move forward. Gotham is a unique organization built on the strength of our relationships – personal and professional – and we know that together we have a unique power to create a positive impact on this critical conversation.

We strive to provide a forum for education, engagement, enlightenment, and greater inclusion. Stay tuned for more information as we more formally craft our goals and actions.

Let us each commit tohonest self-reflection and critical thinking whenlearning about racism and what being antiracist actually means. Read a book, watch a movie and by all means, talk to each other. There are many resources available to us. Here is one list to get you started.
