Thank you Susan!  And a big thank you to Gotham!  As a group, you have all been so supportive of Jake and my family though out all of these years.  In fact, Jake would never would had thrown out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium with the Gold Star Mother who inspired him if it wasn’t for the magic of Gotham (see me for the full story). I am happy to share that on Friday morning, April 3, 8-10 am at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown Tom Gallin and his family will be honored when they receive Volunteer New York!’s Legacy Award at the 40th Annual Volunteer Spirit Awards.

Anyone who knows Tom can only be blown away by the engaged philanthropic spirit that so permeates his family that his young son has been repeatedly recognized for his efforts on behalf of U.S. veterans.

The event promises to be a great networking opportunity.  If you’re able to get to Westchester that day I urge you to do it – if you can’t then you should still consider sponsorships and journal ads.

Kudos to Tom.  He embodies the best of Gotham and the best of what it means to be human.

Hi Susan-

Hello to friends at the Gotham Make a Difference Group. Hope all is well with business and with doing good. I wanted to make sure you knew that Tom Gallin and his wife and son will be honored on Friday morning, April 3, 8-10 am at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown with Volunteer New York!’s prestigious Legacy Award. The presentation will take place at the 40th Annual Volunteer Spirit Awards breakfast where 600+ leaders from businesses, nonprofits, government and communities pack the room to celebrate extraordinary contributions of individuals of all ages/stages/abilities to local nonprofits in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam. The three Gallin family members have each made remarkable contributions to the mission of Volunteer New York! and will be the first family to receive our Legacy Award. Six other individuals will be honored for their volunteerism to other local nonprofits.

Westchester isn’t the Himalayans but many Gothamists might not be able to take the hike north. Besides tickets, there are other ways to congratulate Tom and his family.
