[Fredslist] Can landlords force smart locks on tenants?

Hey Gotham lawyers,

Anyone want to collaborate on an article regarding SMART LOCKS & TENANT RIGHTS?

Can a landlord replace door locks with smart locks?

Can they require the tenant to connect the smart lock & smart thermostat to the tenant's internet circuit?

Can a tenant opt out?

Is this a lease breaker?

If a flaw in the smart lock leads to theft, invasion or rape, who pays?  Landlord or tenant's insurer?

I know the technical flaws - looking for legal counsel to collaborate with.
