[Fredslist] Steven Lichtenstein's Gotham Tower's "Swan Song"

Hi y'all in the Tribe at large. I wanted to share with everyone my last message as group leader to our group of itinerate networkers. Please consider "riding the circuit" to Towers in 2020. We now meet at the Omega Diner in New Hyde Park on the western border with Queens. I will continue on as a regular member until such time I decide to start a new group on the South Shore, closer to home base:

Hi folks,

I'd like to personally thank all of you who attended our last meeting of the calendar year earlier this week. As you all know by now this was my last meeting as Group Leader as I will be passing the baton to my good friends Steve Lefkowitz and Amparo Connors. Steve will continue to act as Group Coordinator and handle all of the behind the scenes things that occur. Steve is a master of accommodation and I expect things, such as finding us a new venue, will continue steady as she goes!  I've known Steve for 15 years and he was one of my first protogees at Gotham (sorry Raj...you were # 2 !)  Steve is a great mortgage guy and really knows what it takes to be referable.

Now, let me tell you about Amparo. I have known her for almost 20 years. She is an unbelievable businessperson and an indomitable spirit. He passion for connecting people and her nurturing of these embryonic relationships is the secret ingredient that will take Towers to the next level. I hope you take advantage of her presence as she really likes spending time in Disney !

I started this group with our fearless leader and my networking guru, Fred Klein and my business partner Stephen Spurgeon in the fall of 2009. We had breakfast in the North Shore Towers café where I shared my vision of creating a Gotham "Super Group" where we would lead by example, mentor all comers, establish fantastic connections and evolve our unique concept. We never passed cards around the table, we waived all non-compete for all visitors and invented the 10 + 10 concept of only allowing those with ten years in business or ten years with the same named company.  Our members thrived and although like most groups we experienced turnover, we retained a hearty core of  veterans who remain today.

Our group is strong and our leadership remains steadfast. I plan to stay as a member and can't wait to see where Steve & Amparo decide to drive this bus..."for the mutual benefit of all" ! Thank you all for your support, your encouragement and your commitment to excellence.
