[Fredslist] >60 yr old volunteer looking for volunteer opportunities/suggestions preferably Manhattan

Hi Tribe:
A good friend e-mailed to tell me  that a close friends was rejected as a volunteer by a hospital because of his age (he is > 60 years old) and asked if I had any suggestions for volunteer opportunities. Could you e-mail me with suggestions and I will pass them on. I know there are members who are part of organizations or know of organizations that would welcome the help.
In addition if there are websites or resources you can recommend that would be most appreciated.
