[Fredslist] China visa question

Happy mid-week all,

I’ll be traveling to China late May to teach for a month in Shanghai. I received a 30-day work permit (several others in the group received a 60-day permit. Why is another story). My teaching schedule is for the month and I will (must) be leaving the day after my last class.

I am told I can apply for a 30-day extension once there…but my concern - what I don’t get it, and my exit flight is delayed or cancelled; what are the consequences if i wind-up there longer than 30 days.

Do we have anyone in the group who has experience with visas to china and might be able help me and a friend apply for an extension from NY.

All best,

Rick
