[Fredslist] Land Use-, town wants permanent access to property to fix and service it.

I need help figuring out what to do.  The Mayor of a town in Putnam country and others-engineers and water specialists, have approached to me make available to them a small piece of my land that will allow them to build a road to access a damn abutting my property that is about to fail.

It is well over 100 years old and has no mortar. My house is on the reservoir the dam spans. I own 1/3 of the dam.

They town needs the road to get the equipment and supplies close to the work and later, a road for a vehicle (?) to regularly inspect the damn.  I do not know what kind of legal help I need to negotiate the deal in my favor.  I would like to be put in touch with someone familiar with such things. Can someone in Gotham advise me on what my next step should be?
