Dear Gotham Family,
If you think this is easy going public about this, it isn't. And it has not
been without the support of some very special Gotham people who know who
they are. But the bottom line is I need a job.
I won't bore you with the details except to say that about 2 years ago
circumstances not in my control, resulted in my career entering a state of
flux and transition that doesn't seem to be abating. Age, level of
experience, and the changing healthcare landscape contribute to the
challenges.
The reality is however that my employment is the only source of income - I
am head of household with only 6 months before it becomes a dire reality.
Despite best efforts, doing everything right, including overcoming some
really insurmountable obstacles and odds, I wasn't able to create the nest
egg that would let me avoid where I am now at my stage of life. It
included working a job and running a business as a second source of income
at the same time for a lot of years. Two years ago I was asked to give up my
second source of income for the right compensation.
I thank God I have my health but I need a job. Attached and below is my
resume. I have references and 30 years of experience growing business for
health enterprises of all types.
I have not been visible in Gotham because of the transition. At first
because job transitions are overwhelming. Later it was my attempt to keep
the out of pocket expenses down and the continuous transition quiet hoping
my situation would eventually work out. I was on the verge of a breakthrough
in May where everything that I had worked for was coming together, when
things started changing again. As of a few weeks ago, the work I was doing
was scrapped despite the fact that I was very successful at my role. The
company decided to redirect their resources and focus.
So I am humbly putting my ego aside with real difficulty, asking for help
hoping I might find the solution to my dilemma.
Thank you Gotham for all that you are and all that you do. As many of you
have heard, I am a firm believer in paying it forward and paying it back and
live by that credo. So I do not take the kindness and support Gotham shares
for granted. Thank you Gotham.
