[Fredslist] Help with importing

I need to learn about the downside of importing such as additional tax
consequences, any other legal or financial ramifications.

I purchased material that was supposed to be imported by someone else.  Now
they are asking me to do it.  I am ill prepared to understand the full
ramifications.  Anyone familiar with this?
