Hello Gotham members, I have a question to help my sister and brother-in law.

July 5th George suffered a terrible fall from his attic ladder. He's required four surgeries in less than a month and will be unable to work for many months to come. He's wondering if it's worth trying to file a claim against his own homeowners insurance? The concern is this action driving up his renewal a great deal, or the co cancelling coverage & then struggling to get another policy in place. My sister Leonor & George live in Rockaway NJ; not sure if what's best to do varies by State.
