I met Tom at Gotham and then used Tom's services and expertise. Firstly, Tom
is very straight forward and honest and knows his field. Secondly after
discussing a manufacturing issue that I am having, Tom provided contact
information to an local individual with a family business in China. Because
of Tom's advice, knowledge and contacts, samples are now being made in
China. Thank you Tom!   Jack

Hi Tribe.

I asked for a Suffolk County based patent attorney and got a resounding
Thomas Orourke as the answer based upon experience working with him.

 

We met yesterday.  I introduced Tom to the person asking the questions.  As
it turns out, what this person wants to do cannot be patented but the
exploration was not a waste of time.

 

Tom was open, honest and very generous with his time in determining if there
was an opportunity.  The exercise gave the potential client a comfort level
that Tom was trustworthy.

As it turns out, the exercise also brought up other inventions that the
potential client will now reach out to Tom for, because based upon
yesterday's conversation, they do meet patent standards.

  

The potential client stated after the meeting (which I did not know until
then) that he had been approached by other attorneys wanting to take the
case in advance of knowing whether the opportunity was patentable resulting
in the expenditure of up to 10K 

only to learn down the road that it would not be patentable. Tom did the
opposite and that sealed the deal because Tom realizes that wasting time and
money for everyone short-term has no value in the long run and he wasn't
going to do that.

It also didn't hurt that Tom knew a lot about healthcare.  

 

Thank you Tom for being honorable, for the generosity of your time, and as
is often the Gotham trademark - making me look good as someone who knows
trustworthy people.
