[Fredslist] Update on my project in Ghana: Need help from Gotham asap!

Gothamites,
As many of you know I've been working with a school for orphans in Ghana since 2009.Thanks to the help of Gothamite Susan Zinder we were able to set up a 501(c)(3), American Friends of Dreamland School Inc. to collect donations to further the projects.I am going to Ghana on Jan 31 and we are going to undertake projects to document the progress of the school construction as well as tell the story of the individual children, and one way to do that is by having the kids take photos and then print and frame the photos to be auctioned at our inaugural event later this year.
Gothamite and superphotographer Michael Meyer suggested we buy cameras for the children to use while we are there that are stop-and-shoot but are battery operated. Since these kids live in places without electricity or outlets charging the cameras will be almost impossible.
Please help my cause and the children by donating money which can be used to buy these cameras.Here is the approximate cost of the cameras. Our goal is to take 4-5 cameras with us.
