Dear Tribe,

About 7 or 8 years ago, the idea of creating the Gothem Giving campaign was born.
The concept was simple. Everyone had a charity and it would be too difficult to pick just one when they were all very worthy.

So we decided to adapt an idea given us by a fellow member who faced a dilelmma similar involving holiday gifts.
We brought it to Tribal council and the rest was history.

The Gotham organization has accomplished collecting about $100,000 over that time
by the dedication and commitment of members willing to put in $10, $20 or more dollars they may have had in their pockets at each meeting
which then morphed to online donations with matching sums.

At the heart of the success of this program through its evolution was one person.
That is Fred Klein.  He kept it going and championed every season in a way that none of us could do alone.
Many charities have benefitted from all our efforts but it is Fred who deserves the greatest thanks for making sure that it happens every year.
