Excellent. Thanks. Len must have some drinks. Normally, when I have lunch with him he quiet and reserved, but as you said his star turn made the night.

The Gotham Film Festival celebrated its Fifth Anniversary with style. The films were certainly the best yet. The night
featured a film by an accomplished teen and a star turn by a venerable star of stage, television, and screen.
Many of the night's films had messages of social awareness, community activism, gun control and inspiration. There were laughs,
tears, guns, escapes, knives, a graphic bathtub scene, and even a surprise explosion.

Our new category of Business short featured a variety of clever advertising artistry. The winner was Gotham Member Mike Liebensohn's Ambrosi Cutlery.
He involved us in the world of restaurant knives. Cleverly shot in kitchens and a cutlery factory, Mike was able to engage us
by interviewing the master knife cutter Robert Ambrosi. How could anyone go anywhere else to keep their knives sharp.

In our Documentary Category, Gotham's own Cayce Crown won the coveted prize for her film, Volunteer Experience. Cayce was able to get behind the scenes of the
Human Rights Campaign Gala at the Waldorf Astoria. Expertly filmed and cutting from the beauty of the Waldorf to the heartfelt comments of volunteer participants, Cayce enabled viewers to focus on
how much the experience meant to the passionate youthful attendees. It was certainly a tribute to the wonderful dividends volunteers receive from their often unrecognized
efforts. The short Doc, The Man in the Red Bandana by Gotham's Jefferson Crowther is an incredible look at his son, Welles' heroism on 9/11. If you do not know the story, check it out
on Youtube.

Our Express (under 5 mIns) Narrative Film Category was filled with creative fare. The beautifully shot and edited The Lollilop by our teen filmmaker, Talia Zinder, won the
Audience Award. The film's joyful take on a world with and without color expressed the teen years perfectly. The Judges chose BMW Spoof by Alex Vachon as
their winner. Alex took us on an incredible ride filled with wonder, anxiety, smiles, and surprises. His twist on the typical car commercial must be seen to be appreciated.
Spoiler alert, the explosion at the end had the audience in an uproar of laughter.

Our Local (under 30 mins) Narrative Film Category was a strong category, too. Films dealing with depression, isolation, homelessness, and racial/religious intolerance
were beautifully done. Our Winner- The Escape, by Alex Forstenhausler, faced the issue of aging and nursing homes in a fanciful and well crafted way. Alex was fortunate
to have Len Cariou, the star of Sweeney Todd, Bluebloods and many other projects, anchor his piece. Set in a nursing home and featuring an adorable child actor,
Alex set the stage for a moving journey of an elderly man anxious to return to a world of joy and love. Mr. Cariou brought the house down as he talked about his experience
making the film in our post film Q and A session. An unforgettable, uncensored true Friars Club experience.

The $500 and $250 prizes were distributed followed with short speeches and thank yous. Please spread the word to any filmmakers about the incredible opportunity to show a film at the Gotham Film Festival
at the world famous Friars Club. We hope to see many of you here next year with your friends and family. Put it on your calendar and don't miss it. You will be astounded by the quality and creativity
of the films that we are showing.

Congratulations to all our filmmakers, judges, sponsors, committee members, and a special thanks to Steven Skyles-Mulligan, Fred Klein, and Norm Spizz for making the evening run beautifully.
