 Dear Stephen,

I hope this finds you and yours doing well.

Having had the honor to serve as the Executive Director of Global Youth Connect for the past five years, I have decided to transition out of that role. It has been an absolute joy to work for an organization with such a strong, sustained, and effective commitment to supporting young human rights activists, grassroots civil society organizations, intercultural dialogue and activism, as well as conflict resolution and transitional justice. I look forward to remaining in contact and even collaboration with GYC, its partners, staff, board members, and especially the GYC alumni!

As part of this transition, the GYC board of directors and I will be bringing-on an Executive Director-elect by the fall, and we'd love your help in finding the right person.

To this end, I wanted to draw your attention to the job-listing we have just posted on Idealist.org and to ask that you promote the position among potential candidates. The deadline to apply is July 10, 2015. Note: Willingness to work in New York City is a definite plus, but Washington DC may also be an option. The position will start at half or 3/4-time, preferably in September, with the potential to increase quickly depending on fundraising and program enrollment.

In addition, any tax-deductible financial support you can offer as we go through this transition would be greatly appreciated.

Lastly, and as always, please continue to promote our upcoming programs, including:

The October 7th - 14th Human Rights in the USA Program (apply by June 30 for best availability). We would like to confirm this program soon, so please spread the word! (Local NYC Participant scholarships may still be available)

We have Bosnia and Rwanda programs confirmed for this summer and they are still accepting applications from full-paying participants (all scholarships have been awarded at this time, to a roster of emerging activists from Bosnia-Herzegovina, South Africa, the U.K., Canada, and all over the U.S.).

With many thanks and in solidarity,

 Jesse Hawkes
