[Fredslist] Seeking a few minutes of Gotham legal wisdom re gold trading

I purchased gold over a period of years and when I recently stopped in at the place where I bought it, I found that it had closed. I have some access to the owner family, but want to make sure I don’t do anything to sabotage my chances of recovery, or at least of being able to write off the loss.

Any legal goldbugs out there?
