Gotham,

In addition to sending healing thoughts to Jaide and strength to Steven and his family, and making a contribution to RMDH of The Greater Hudson Valley, may I make another suggestion?  Consider making RMDH of the Greater Hudson Valley your charity of choice when making a donation to Gotham’s Season of Giving.  At the end of the year, they could receive a nice donation from Gotham.

Dear Friends,

As per Fred's suggestion I am letting our Gotham Tribe know about a tragedy that has affected our family deeply. My daughter Jaide, 16 years old, was injured badly in an explosion suffered while working at camp. Luckily she was saved and after receiving first aid was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY.

Since July 5th we have maintained a daily vigil at her bedside as she recuperates. To date she has had five surgeries to repair significant burns to her legs, arms, hands and fingers. We are confident she is receiving the best care possible as WCMC has one of the best burn centers in the world and her surgeon and nurses are simply skilled angels sent from the heavens.

Many of our extended family, tribe, clients and friends have asked what they can do. First it is impossible to keep everyone up to date with her progress as our time is spent mostly attending to her needs. We were one of the fortunate one's that due to the right connections and timing were able to land a room across the parking lot in the coveted yet tiny Ronald McDonald house. They call this the "house that love built". I had always heard that while supporting the one on Long Island but until I became a resident and met the volunteers, didn't quite really understand what that meant. We have always been charitable minded folks however to now be on the receiving end of other's generosity of spirit has truly given us the courage, strength and determination to remain at Jaide's side as we fight our way out of this nightmare.

In lieu of all of the offers "for anything we need" all I ask is that you consider donating cash to RMDH of The Greater Hudson Valley OR you click on the link to the website page I will post below that takes you directly to their "wish list".  Our grand poobah Fred has already pledged $ 100 to seed this endeavor. We will be writing a large check as well. There are many items they need to supply this small house plus even a gift of just $ 15 will enable them to run their programs and house a family for an evening. Until you experience this yourself you will never know why this is truly "the house that love built" !
