I always go to the box office, pre-select a few dates (Tuesday's or Thursday's*), typically a month or so out. Usually works. 

*I avoid Wednesday nights as I feel the cast is tired from the matinee. 

This is my method. There are other ways - stubhub and the like but you'll pay a premium.
