Gotham – A friend of mine is an HR director at an intimate apparel company.  She has an interesting opening for someone who works in import/export.  The job description is below. Exciting intimate apparel company is seeking an Import Assistant to support the Import team as they deal with customs and logistical issues and coordinate the shipment of our finished goods from the overseas factories to our warehouse.   The successful candidate will coordinate with Forwarders. Brokers, Truckers and our Warehouse, while maintaining and compiling records of freight rates, freight payments,  debit notices and checking customs entries and apparel classification/customs codes.

Qualifications for this job are as follows:

1-2 years experience in Import,
Proficiency in the Microsoft Word, Outlook and Basic Excel.
Basic understanding of import/export procedures and customs rules and regulations.
