As a devout Marxist (of course I am referring to Julius Henry Marx, as well
as his brothers Leonard, Adolph and Milton), and a true believer in
Brooksian theories, (and someone who loved the Russians are Coming The
Russians are Coming) I have to have Blazing Saddles, Producers, A night at
the Opera, and My Cousin Vinny up there in the top 5.

Bruce I am with you on that one. But all of us should not forget some of
the old Groucho Marx movies. They were a laugh a second kind of movies.

I would definitely be up for this, however is it a well known fact that the
funniest movie ever made is BLAZING SADDLES, with YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN coming
in a close 2nd! Indeed, ANIMAL HOUSE and AIRPLANE are fighting it out for 3
rd.
Oh, I’m afraid that I do not know the answers to the trivia questions.

OK, tribe. In my personal pantheon of funniest movies ever made, the
second-place title goes to…. “Animal House.” (The first place is “The
Producers”—the 1967 version.)
I was having a conversation with Fred last week, and he came up with a
whale of an idea for Gotham. To wit: A screening of “Animal House” at
Friars! It’ll be hilarious good fun, we’ll eat popcorn and have a terrific
time. I’m thinking after Labor Day.
Who’s in? I bet this event “sells out” very quickly.
Now, no cheating. Here are a couple of rather obscure trivia questions:
1. At the beginning of the movie, serious-sounding music is playing,
and the camera pans downward on the statue of Faber, the name of the
college. And under the statue is the school’s motto. What is that motto?
NO CHEATING.
2. In the parade scene, at the end of the movie, the Death Mobile is
encased in a float of a large cake. There is writing on the side of the
cake. What is written on the cake? NO CHEATING.
Oh, are we gonna have fun!!!
