Dear Colleagues and Friends,

I am reaching out in the hope that you will join me in making a difference.

On February 28th, I will join thousands of New Yorkers ("spinners") for Cycle for Survival's indoor cycling event benefiting cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center ("MSKCC").

A few things make this event special:

*         100% of the dollars raised go directly towards cancer research

*         Funds raised are allocated within six months of each event

*         The money raised already has funded 85 clinical trials and research studies affecting rare cancers, drastically reducing the time it takes for treatments to reach patients

I know that you probably receive a large number of requests for donations, so I would really appreciate your help for a cause that is very dear to me.

I will be riding for my mom, Julia, who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer a few years ago. She is a survivor and is reminded everyday of her illness from residual effects of the treatments she received. Due to the rare nature of her cancer, my mom joined forces with MSKCC and together they devised a complex plan which monitored the length and course of treatment. Thanks to the wonderful team of doctors who helped cure her! My mom has been an inspiration not only in the way she battled her own cancer but in the way she continued to dedicate herself to her family and job, even when her own health became worse. She is the strongest and bravest person I know- this ride goes out to her!
