BILINGUAL LOAN CONSULTANT, NEW YORK CITY

Accion is a nonprofit microfinance organization that empowers business
owners through access to small business loans and financial education.
We're an organization that has helped thousands of small business owners
grow and thrive. A recognized leader in domestic and international
microfinance, we help small business owners use microloans to build
their businesses. Our loans and financial education services help small
businesses strengthen their businesses, increase their incomes, create
jobs and contribute to the local revitalization of their economies.

The Loan Consultant is the point of contact for prospective Accion
borrowers. Primary responsibilities includes enthusiastically generating
client leads, connecting clients to resources that support their
success, assisting clients with their applications and providing
outstanding customer service to existing, past and prospective clients.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

*         Identify small business owners who need financing and have
them apply for a loan.

*         Assist clients in the preparation of loan applications.

*         Ensure strong loan performance, including on time payments.

*         Identify, initiate and manage strategic community partnerships
that increase quality referrals

REQUIRED SKILLS

*         Bilingual -- Fluency in second language required.

*         5 years experience working in small business; prior business
experience/sales skills preferred.

*         Good presentation and analytical skills; Knowledge of Word,
Excel, PowerPoint.

*         Willingness to work nights and weekends, when needed.

*         Familiarity with NYC preferred.

*         Prior experience in business lending or microfinance highly
preferred.
