The NY Real Estate Chapter is proud and most heartened to welcome new member
Bruce Cholst to our chapter.
Bruce joined Gotham in 2005 as a Bandit member and embraced our Group last
month. 

He is a partner at Rosen Livingston & Cholst LLP.  
This boutique Manhattan real estate law firm specializes in representation
of cooperative, condominium and homeowner association boards. It serves as
general counsel to over 200 such associations throughout the greater New
York area, providing its client boards with litigation and transactional
services as well as counsel on corporate and governance issues. 

 

Bruce represents the firm’s cooperative and condominium clients in complex
sponsor defect and sponsor arrears litigation, shareholder controversies,
commercial and residential non-payment actions, vendor claims, board
election disputes, and governing document analysis.  He has also negotiated
and drafted commercial leases, management agreements, and handled several
successful board election campaigns on behalf of both management and
insurgent slates.  

 

Bruce graduated from New York Law School in 1977.  He clerked for two New
York State Supreme Court Justices and worked at two other law firms prior to
his current association.  

 

Bruce currently serves on the New York City Bar Association Sub Committee on
Cooperatives and Condominiums. He frequently lectures and writes on issues
regarding cooperatives and condominiums for various community organizations
and trade groups, and in 2012 co-authored an article published in the New
York Law Journal titled “Overcoming Limitations of Condo Boards In Dealing
With Unruly Residents.

 

Bruce is a firm believer in Gotham’s trademark mantra “it’s better to give
than to receive, and what goes around comes around.” He has helped countless
Gothamites navigate thorny issues with their coop and condo boards, and has
gained entrée through grateful Gothamites to countless coop and condo
boards.
