Position Summary
This is a position providing on-site computing support to clients. The position is responsible for second level problem determination, problem/incident recording, problem resolution and problem escalation for supported products and services. These products and services include networks, client/server systems, PC and Macintosh desktops, desktop application software, peripheral devices, and others.

Responsibilities

*         Provide second level contact and problem resolution for all users with hardware, software and applications problems.

*         Resolve as many user-reported problems as expertise permits using available tools and following procedures and policies for the handling of support cases.

  *   Uses advanced troubleshooting skills.
  *   Courteously obtain and convey concise problem information for external and internal service personnel.
  *   Utilizes superior customer service skills.
  *   Help Desk documentation, records and procedures
Experience and Skills Required

  *   Five years of work experience providing technical support.
  *   CompTIA A+ and Network+ will be required within six months of hire.
  *   Ability to effectively communicate by phone or in person.
  *   Proficiency with all current Windows operating systems mandatory, Apple desirable.
  *   VMware experience desired.
  *   Ability to write clearly and professionally, both in communications and in documentation.
  *   Demonstrated ability to achieve successful outcomes in handling difficult situations and customers.
  *   Knowledge of information technology products and services. Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  *   Shows initiative and acts independently to resolve problems.
  *   Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on projects to completion.
  *   Must work well independently and in a team.

  *   Must have reliable vehicle.

Formal Education & Certification

*         College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, technical school diploma, or an additional year of experience for a total of six years.

*         CompTIA A+ and Network+ will be required within six months of hire.

*         Microsoft, Apple, SonicWall, Cisco, and other IT vendor certifications desirable.

Work Conditions

  *   Participation in on-call rotation and occasional off-shift work.
  *   Help Desk shifts include 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and 12:00 Noon to 8:00 PM Monday through Friday. Shift will be determined based on staffing needs by management.
  *   Shifts subject to change.
