Hi:

I want
to second Sherry Rivera’s comments about the great meeting of the MAD, Green
and Health and Aging group. I also want to give everyone who attended and in Gotham three opportunities to participate in saving the planet
by:

1) Marching
on September 21 to show support for Climate Change

2)
Having Gail Koelln who trained in August 2013 under Al Gore to become a
Volunteer Climate Leader in the Climate Reality project. speak to your group
for free to spread the word

3) Using
the talking points attached to convince people that people are the cause of
climate change and that people can therefore make the changes necessary to turn things
around.

I hope
that we can all participate and make the difference and save the planet for
those we hold dear whether it be our children, grandchildren or simply because
it’s the right thing to do.

1) THE
MARCH: Where: Manhattan,
starting at Columbus Circle

When:
Sunday, September 21 starting (starting time to be determined) coincides with:
 world leaders coming
to New York City
for a UN summit on the climate crisis. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon
is urging governments to support an ambitious global agreement to
dramatically reduce global warming pollution.

2)CONTACT
GAIL TO SPEAK TO YOUR GROUP : 718-776-7284 or gkoelln at gkgrantwriting.com.

3)CLIMATE
CHANGE TALKING POINTS:

1.
97% of climate
experts worldwide agree humans are causing global warming.

2.
The negative impacts
of climate change on agriculture, health and the environment far outweigh any
positives

3.
Climate models have
successfully reproduced temperatures since 1900 globally on the land, in the
air and in the ocean and they are predicting hotter temperatures and great
increases in sea levels.

4.
The last decade was
the hottest on record.

5.
For global records,
2010 was the hottest year on record, tied with 2005.

6.
Mass extinctions of
species that cannot adapt to climate change on short time scales have already
begun.

7.
Satellites measure
Antarctica losing land ice at an accelerating rate (including the recent news
that a large section of the West Antarctica
ice sheet as started failing apart).

8.
Climate reacts to
whatever forces it to change at the time; humans are now the dominant force.

Rosalia
