Dear Gothamites,
A retail client of a lawyer colleague of mine needs a contact at a local NY attorney who is familiar with the NY Dept of Consumer Affairs - they received what was essentially a $700 fine for not having items individually priced (as compared to a sign) and just want to make sure they do it correctly in their NY stores.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of hearing fellow Gothamite and good friend Marc Halpert speak at a Wall Street Journal Small Business event here in Stamford, CT. As many of you know, Marc is a recognized expert on the usage of Linked-In, and at the meeting the moderator (WCBS's business news head, the ever-entertaining Joe Connolly) asked Marc to speak to the multitudes assembled. Marc's remarks were also broadcast yesterday afternoon, and I can tell you with absolute objectivity that Marc totally rocked (that's a technical term, folks)! He was clear, passionate, persuasive and we should all be both pleased for him and proud of one of our own making good. Of course, none of this surprised me.
