I second Elizabeth’s comment about last nights dinner group meeting.
 
I rode the circuit from CT to the dinner group last night and despite the frigid weather outside, it was downright balmy inside with genuine warmth and kindness. We had a very eclectic and interesting mix of people and professions.
 
Jayne, you did an exceptional job as emcee with passion and presence. Well done.
 
Gothamites – be sure to make it a priority in 2014 to visit the dinner group at Butterfield 8 Restaurant.

For those that were not in attendance, I have one question…. Why not?

 

 It was a terrific and dynamic meeting and there were many great connections.

A fabulous Gotham story ended the event… just as two guests were leaving one was running to Grand Central to head to Westchester and the other was heading to her car to head to Weschester. She turned to the other and said, "do you want a ride?" He almost fell over with excitement. It turned out they lived just several blocks away from each other.

 

I hope they both discussed in the car ride home that they must join the Gotham Dinner group immediately!!

I hope to see you all at our meeting in 2014.

Last night was my first Dinner Group experience and a grand one it was!  I'd heard they're a lively, fun group.   They clearly are…as well as warm and caring.

 

If you haven't yet, do plan a visit to this group in the New Year.

 

Jayne Latz took over as Emcee for the traveling Erin Ardsleigh.  I've yet to see Erin in action, but Jayne was energetic and spontaneous.  Marty Klein extended an immediate and robust welcome when I entered.  Ken Stuart lent an empathetic ear.  It's always good to see Barry Newman, whom I've known for many years.  

 

Having an open group with no feelings of competitiveness in the room…delightful!
