EDI Appraisals is currently doing appraisals for Long Islanders whose  
property has suffered the wrath of Sandy. The IRS allows a certain  
property damage from storms, fire and theft to be deducted from   
taxes. I am attaching the News Day Article and EDI's brochure for you

EDI appraises the home for fair market value before and after the  
storm...... The flat fee starting at $550 (track homes) 10% of  
collected funds or donated  American Heart Association or We Care  
(Nassau County Bar). The home owner must identify which organization  
they would like to see get the donation.
