Nana Ann's butter cake. 

I can't believe I used to eat this, willingly.   

Mmmmmmmm.

1/2 lb of butter

1 cup of sugar

(cream these together) 

add one egg yoke 

(save white for later) 

2 cups of flour, mix together until dough no longer sticks to 

your fingers. Press into a 8x8x2 slightly greased pan, 

probably greasing it with butter.  Cover top with the egg whites 

and pour off excess.  

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes, cut when cool.  

Eat at your own risk.
