Vice President/Director Job Description 

 

Firm Overview

Our client is a specialty investment banking firm that serves as fund
raising advisor and placement agent to private equity managers seeking to
raise institutional capital.  Founded in 2001 the company has raised
approximately $8 billion for buyout, growth equity, venture capital, real
estate, infrastructure, and secondary funds worldwide.  

Job Description

Forum Capital Partners is seeking a Vice President or Director-level private
equity fund placement professional for immediate hire in its New York
headquarters.  The Vice President/Director will be responsible for leading
the firm's project management function, including:

 

.             Supervision of the project management team, including at least
one associate and/or analyst (to be hired), a marketing coordinator
responsible for logistics, and a database manager responsible to client
reporting

.             Coordination of the firm's new business development
activities, including working with the Managing Partners to identify market
opportunities and source prospective mandates

.             Oversight of manager research and selection, including leading
due diligence on prospective fund mandates sourced through new business
development activities

.             Development of private placement memorandums, presentation
materials, sample due diligence questionnaires, data rooms, and other
supplemental materials necessary to bring fund mandates to market

.             Design of marketing campaigns in conjunction with the
distribution team, including the identification of prospective investors and
drafting of marketing scripts and emails

.             Implementation of marketing campaigns, including constant
interaction with the distribution team to ensure efficient fundraisings by
analyzing feedback from the field to help inform road show planning and
identify next steps

.             Support of distribution team throughout marketing campaign,
including responses to customized due diligence requests from prospective
investors

.             Interaction with sponsor clients to provide updates on
marketing campaigns and coordinate the timely delivery of information to
prospective investors

 

Qualifications

Candidates should be self-starters with the ability to work independently or
as part of a small team on a variety of tasks.  Applicants must possess:

 

.             At least 8 years of total work experience in the financial
services industry, including at least 5 years of relevant experience in
private equity as an investor, advisor/consultant, or placement agent

.             Prior experience with an independent private equity fund
placement boutique, private funds group at a leading financial institution,
or investor relations/fundraising team at a large, multi-strategy private
equity investment firm is strongly preferred

.             Proven ability to manage teams and processes

.             Strong academic credentials, including BA/BS from a top-tier
institution

.             Excellent research, data management, analytical (both
qualitative and quantitative), writing and verbal communication skills

.             Highly organized with strong attention to detail

.             Ability to multi-task and prioritize

.             Self-motivated with solutions orientation

.             Mindset of providing outstanding client service
