Just a grateful shout out to Cheri Elferis.  As someone who is planning on
traveling this weekend ­ she's been really helpful.  Of course, there's no
news in that since I've known for a while (and Gotham has known even longer)
how great she is ­ butŠ just thought I'd remind you all to listen to Cheri
about your traveling!

I've received a few calls from Gothamites asking for advice on travelling
this week-end, so thought I would share this with everyoneŠ.
 
1)Most major airlines - American, United, Delta, US Air, and Jetblue - have
already issued re-accommodation procedures. If you are traveling this Friday
or Saturday, they will allow you to change your travel date - up until
February 12th - WITH NO PENALTY. In most cases, you can only get a REFUND if
your flight is cancelled. That's the general rule - there are exceptions.
Seats are going to be scarce, so make up your mind to change TODAY - don't
wait until tomorrow or Saturday.
 
1) If you booked your ticket through Expedia, Priceline, Orbitz
(shame,shame,shame!) you'll have to call them to have your ticket exchanged.
And good luck with that -
 
2) If you booked your ticket through the airline directly - either on the
phone or online - (better!) - call them to have your ticket exchanged, but
expect to wait on the phone for at least an hour.
 
3) If you booked your ticket through me (best!) I will already have advised
you of your alternate choices and exchanged your ticket. Because of
Protravel's relationship with the airlines, in many cases, neither of us
have to sit on the phone for an hour, since we have prior authorization to
change.
