*Position Summary:*



The Junior Account Manager at the NYC Business Solutions, Lower Manhattan
Center will serve as a relationship manager and a primary point of contact
between business customers in need of access to the Lower Manhattan
Center’s associated services; in particular, Recruitment, Training,
Financing, Courses, and MWBE Certification.  The Account Manager is also
responsible for administrative functions related to Center management and
developing partnerships and supporting outreach activities to market the
Center and its services to new and existing business customers. The
position requires experience or interest with direct small business
assistance and working knowledge of the issues small businesses face when
starting and growing a business.

*About NYC Business Solutions:*



NYC Business Solutions is a set of services offered by the New York City
Department of Small Business Services (SBS) to help businesses start,
operate, and expand in New York City.  NYC Business Solutions has been at
the forefront of the Mayor’s commitment to help business customers, by
providing small businesses and entrepreneurs with the ability to access
government services by phone, online, or in person at NYC Business
Solutions Centers located throughout the five boroughs.  The NYC Business
Solutions set of services consists of:  Business Courses, Legal Assistance,
Financing, Incentives, Navigating Government, Recruitment, Training,
Selling to the Government and M/WBE Certification.



*Duties and Responsibilities:*

   - Work with businesses to develop and implement recruitment plans and
   work with SBS’ Workforce1 Career Center partners to ensure businesses are
   connected to qualified candidates
   - Promote training grants to prospective clients, assist with ensuring
   that clients are qualified to apply for the grants, and act as an advocate
   for the client when communicating with the SBS training team
   - Market the NYC Business Solutions, Lower Manhattan Center and its
   services to new and existing business customers through direct business
   outreach activities
   - Assist customers in applying for numerous government incentives and
   programs, such as  Minority- and Women-owned Business certification
   - Coordinate and schedule appointments for clients with NYC Business
   Solutions partner lawyers, consultants, and CPAs
   - Create and maintain complete records of customer accounts, including
   detailed content on sales and service delivery activities completed and
   full profile information for business customes in the system’s CRM database
   - Respond to all customer inquiries in a timely and appropriate manner,
   in accordance with quality assurance best practices and Center standards
   - Attend trainings and mentoring sessions as provided by NYC Business
   Solutions in order to enhance sales and service delivery skills
   - Identify leads for financing assistance and connect them with the
   finance team
   - Develop relationships with banks, alternative lenders, law firms, and
   partners (e.g., chambers of commerce, economic development organizations,
   etc.) that can provide services to NYC Business Solution Center customers
   and serve as referral sources
   - Represent Lower Manhattan Center at networking events and SBS
   sponsored meetings



*Background and Experience:*



·         Bachelor’s degree required

·         At least 1 year of relevant work experience

·         Demonstrated interest for inside sales, consultative sales, and
business development training

·         Ability to build a pipeline of leads from initial contact to
closing

·         Ability to develop a creative business development strategy that
targets leads for multiple verticals

·         Comfortable interfacing with clients in person, over the phone,
and through email

·         Proven track record in acquiring and retaining business customers

·         Capable of handling rejection from prospective clients, while
maintaining a professional demeanor

·         Willingness to develop a comprehensive understanding of services
offered by Lower Manhattan Center

·         Demonstrated knowledge of small business assistance and business
support programs in New York City

·         Experience managing partnerships with community-based
organizations, community groups and/or government programs in a manner that
helped both organizations meet their goals

·         Experience using customer relationship management tools or other
database systems in order to track and manage services and outcomes

·         Written and verbal fluency in Spanish and/or Chinese is a major
plus

·         Flexible, adaptable, customer-focused, and goal-oriented with a
commitment to high standards of excellence

·         Ability to work effectively under pressure in both a team and
individual setting

·         Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills

·         Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight
deadlines and manage competing priorities

·         The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
with a diverse array of internal and external stakeholders
