The Olympics are upon once again and this film will certainly help you get into the competitive spirit! David Chappellet (Robert Redford) is a mean-spirited skier out to break all records when he goes to Europe for the Olympics. He profits from another skier's injury to gain a spot on the team but is contemptuous of the teamwork advocated by the coach (Gene Hackman). The fact that this movie was made in 1969 makes it quite dated, but it is exactly the dated fashions, music, cinematography, skiing equipment, and attitudes that make it a keeper. Created in 1981 by Theatre Within Workshop founder, Alec Rubin, and his then student Joe Raiola, Theatre Within's Annual John Lennon Tribute is now a much-loved New York City tradition. Each year's Tribute brings together an acclaimed group of artists to celebrate Lennon's music, life and timeless message of peace and love. Phish returns to Madison Square Garden for a four-show Holiday/NYE Run to close out 2013! The band has played 27 shows to date at MSG. Formed at the University of Vermont in 1983, their music blends elements of a wide variety of genres, including rock, jazz, progressive rock, psychedelic rock, hard rock, funk, folk, bluegrass, reggae, country, blues, avant garde, barbershop quartet and classical, each of their concerts is original in terms of the songs performed, the order they appear in, and the way they are performed. Housed in an old auto garage whose sole purpose now is to serve you beer you can't get anywhere else. The word "ginormous" comes to mind here.
