Uncloaking Poe: An Evening Tribute

Join local artists and members of the community to celebrate the life and work of Edgar Allan Poe through music, painting, performance, and more.

Friday, December 6, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
NYU School of Law
Furman Hall, Room 216
245 Sullivan St (between West 3rd St and Washington Square South)

A reception will follow in the Poe Room. This event is free and open to the public, and an RSVP is required. Register online to reserve your seat, or call the Office of Government and Community Affairs at 212-998-2400. The Poe Room event is a partnership between NYU and the community.

NYU and the 9th Police Precinct Announce
The 2013 Holiday Toy Drive!

Help brighten the holidays for local children by donating to the annual Holiday Toy Drive!

Toys will be distributed to children living in the 9th Police Precinct, the East Village, and the Lower East Side, as well as to children attending the Herbert G. Birch Manhattan Early Childhood Center, serving mostly those with autism and other special needs.

There are two ways to donate:

Drop off a toy in person: Drop off a new, unwrapped, nonviolent toy or book for children ages 4 to 13 years to any of our neighborhood collection sites and receive a special discount on an accompanying purchase! The drop-off locations will accept donations from Monday, Dec. 2 through Thursday, Dec. 12.

You can also purchase a toy online: visit our Holiday Toy Drive's Amazon wish list and purchase your donation. Toys will be shipped directly to the address linked to the wish list (Attn: Joe Manoleas, NYU Community Affairs, 25 West 4th St., #523, NYC 10012). Amazon purchases should be completed by Tuesday, Dec. 10 to allow time for shipping.

The toy drive is sponsored by the NYU Office of Government and Community Affairs, the NYU Administrative Management Council, and the 9th Police Precinct.
