[Fredslist] A time of renewal and charity

Dear Gotham Family

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year. It kicks off a series of many Jewish
holidays. What all of them have in common is a sense of renewal, family,
and community. Part of that is to honor loved ones lost through charity.
It is called Tzedakah ( phonetically stated Zeducka). Tzedakah is a common
theme through out Jewish culture and it is practiced by other cultures in
many ways under different names.

For those of us that practice; for those of us that have lost loved ones and
participate in Yiskor or Yahrzeit (lighting of a memorial candle and saying
a memorial prayer), for those that are fighting for their very lives (and
there are Gotham members who are) or others who have an affection for
someone in Gotham, please consider donating to Gotham' Summer of Giving as
part of Gotham's 501(c)3 charitable efforts.

You may donate at your next Gotham meeting, online at the Gotham website, or
make a check out to Gotham and send it to Fred's office at Klein Zelman
Rothermel, LLP 485 Madison Avenue, NY, NY 10022. Donations done online and
by check are tax deductible. Consider going a step further and asking a
business relationship to donate as well.

There is so much that is done for you and that you have in your hands as a
member of Gotham that is priceless. It goes beyond the cost of membership
and requests for donation. Consider then that what we are asking is very
little when it is a collective of all of us. Don't forget there are 700+
members. Giving $25.00 a piece puts us over the goal. That is so little for
so much. We have changed the course of lives from this effort as a
collective that we can be very proud of and leave a legacy behind for. That
is what Gotham is about and integral to many of our cultures represented by
Gotham.

Thank you and Happy New Year to each of you.

Warmest Regards

Ester Horowitz CHC, CITRMS
