[Fredslist] Non-profit athletic event knowledge, anyone?

A neighborhood [Upper East Side & East Harlem] non-profit is interested in
learning the "how to" of organizing and executing an athletic event in
Manhattan as a fundraiser.   We are very early in the exploratory phase and
would appreciate input from knowledgeable folk willing to share their own
