ABOUT THIS COURSE

While many attorneys are familiar with proceedings in state and federal courts, a case before the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board (TTAB) is a special appearance before a federal administrative court.  Many trademark applicants, especially pro se applicants, are unaware that filing a trademark application may result in appearing before the TTAB or defending  a challenge of the application's existence by third parties.  This course is designed to get attorneys familiar with the TTAB as a whole and the very specific rhythm of such a case.

 

Learning Objectives:

I.   Understand Trademark Opposition

II.  Identify Interested Parties

III. Grasp Claims by Plaintiffs & Defendants

IV.  Lessons Learned Through Practice
