Fellow Gothamites,

I recently ran into the Coordinator of Bide-a-Wee's Animal Assisted Therapy Program. This program helps people who want to volunteer with their pets to find suitable places to do this rewarding work, such as nursing homes. They are particularly looking for volunteers in Queens, but also place people on Long Island and in Manhattan.

The most common pets involved are dogs, but people sometimes bring other pets, such as cats or rabbits.

If you are interested, here is a link to more information:

I've also attached a flyer about the program. In addition, anyone interested can contact Coordinator Kim Keith directly at 866-262-8133, ext. 7331 or at kimberly.keith at bideawee.org.

Best wishes,
Gail
