I have a single $45 ticket available for tonight's Riverside Choral Society's concert - Dona Nobis Pacem with Gotham's own Iris Wolinsky. Accompanied by a 73 piece orchestra!
Fri. March 9,  8:00 pm,  Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center
My husband can't make it, would anyone care to join me?
We sing several settings of Dona Nobis Pacem (Give us Peace).  Each piece is uniquely individual, intense and moving.  We are in love with this music!
The first setting by composer Vaughn Williams includes Walt Whitman poetry, Psalms and Proverbs, and Dona Nobis Pacem text.  A haunting, dramatic work.  The second setting (composer Lewis Spratlan) includes the Latin Dona Nobis Pacem as well as 'peace language' in Hebrew and Arabic -exotic and other worldly.  The third setting is liquid and beautiful (composer Joseph Gregorio).
