Long Islanders are very familiar with the noun/adjective "Optimum." 
Whereas Webster defines it as /the best/ or /most desirable/, we know it 
to refer to Cablevisions "Triple Play"-phone, internet, and cablevision 
service all rolled into one bundle. Fortunately and coincidentally, we 
are about to be treated to another, perhaps more desirable "Optimum." 
The newest "Triple Play," The Michael Jazz Trio, formerly known as the 
"music kids from C. I.," (Central Islip) is perhaps one of the best 
young group of musicians to come along recently. They just released 
their first single, entitled, Optimum. As the name implies, it 
represents some of the finest work the band has done to date and signals 
the emergence of a group with every intention of being around for years 
to come.

Keyboardist, Matthew, eighteen, bassist, David, sixteen, and the band's 
"Secret Weapon," drummer, Jordan, eleven, are for real! Fresh off of 
multiple wins at Amateur Night at the World Famous Apollo, a 
crowd-pleasing, eye-opening performance at the popular Jazz on the Vine 
Series, held at Macari Vineyards in Mattinecock, Long Island, and 
opening for noted Guitarist, Jeff Golub at the Raphael Vineyards in 
Peconic, MJT is poised to take their enormous talents to the next 
level-stardom! "Optimum is as Optimum does"-it gives a sample of some of 
the best music around from one of the best bands around. Like the 
aforementioned "Triple Play, Optimum is a blend of funk, r & b, with a 
jazz foundation. Suggestion-keep your ears on! There is much more to
