[Fredslist] Building Committee advice please

I have been asked to serve on the Building Committee for a local
not-for-profit and could use some advice.

The project is for Bridges <http://www.bridgesmilford.org/> , which is a
mental health and addiction services organization in Connecticut. They will
be expanding their physical space, to allow for more offices and meeting
rooms for the therapists, case workers, clients, and other uses. They do
terrific work for kids and families, as well as the casework needed for
chronically impacted people. 

The expansion has been designed and now the heavy lifting ($$) starts. All I
know is that some of the donations can be goods rather than cash, although
money is of course best. Rooms will be named after major donors. 

Has anyone out there been on a similar committee? Any advice, besides "Run
Away, Run Away" (Monty Python reference)
