Job Description for Food Pantry Director
 
Shorefront Jewish Community Council (SJCC) seeks a qualified director of our large food pantry that assists over 1500 poor and indigent families in Brighton and Manhattan Beach in South Brooklyn.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 
-  Responsible for certifying, re-certifying and enrolling clients into the food pantry program.

-  Maintain, organize and run all food pantry programs run by SJCC

-  Manage and maintain food pantry budget in conjunction with the Site Director.

-  Work closely with Met Council Kosher Food Warehouse on large food distributions

-  Work with other food vendors

-  Prepare reports for funders and internal statistics

-  Research new funding streams and prepare funding applications

-  Work with local bakery’s, markets and restaurants to obtain donations

-  Work with and manage large group of volunteers

 
Qualifications:
 
-  BA degree

-  Speak both Russian and English fluently

-  Strong writing and communication skills

-  Compassionate

-  Organized

-  Able to organize large food distributions and maintain records

-  Knowledge of Kosher Dietary Laws (preferred)
