Curriculum Intern
 
Internship Responsibilities
The candidate selected will serve as the Workforce Development Curriculum Intern, assisting the Director and  Program  Specialist with  the  facilitation  of  the  Department’s  12  session  Workforce  101  course. Develops structured, interactive, scenario based,user friendly soft skill curriculum with digital media, interactive , and music components; partner with other intern(s) to co-facilitateshort and long tern work readiness courses as well as other classes; meet with participants and in small groups to discuss jail and community based workforce programs, and the “Reward Success” program – a Department initiative to track employmentoutcomes of individuals who completed jail based workforce programs.   Research general reentry and specific workforce bestpractices.
 
Qualifications/ Special Skills /Areas of Study
Selected candidate must be enrolled in an undergraduate school program pursuing a Bachelor's in Education or Social Work degreeand exhibit a strong interest in working with incarcerated individuals as well as working closely with other interns to developcurricula, and facilitate job readiness classes for groups of 10 to 40 participants.  Proficient in Microsoft Office – (Excel,PowerPoint, Word).

Social Media Intern
 
Internship Responsibilities
The candidate selected will serve as the Workforce Development Social Media Intern, preparing and developing a comprehensive,user friendly, interactive, easy to update, webpage and slideshow about pre- release and post-release services that connectformerly incarcerated individuals to relevant community based resources.  He/she will collaborate closely with DOC and socialservice agencies staff, as well as other interns, to develop a clear understanding of the needs of, and resources available for,formerly incarcerated persons.  The Intern will conduct focus groups at social service agencies to ascertain the average familiaritylevel of formerly incarcerated individuals with online resources as well as to determine webpage’s effectiveness.
 
Qualifications/ Special Skills /Areas of Study
Selected candidate must be enrolled in an undergraduate school program pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science degree orrelated field of study.  Strong interest in working with incarcerated individuals. Experience in online communication.  Excellentcommunication, writing and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office – (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
