Job Title:                           Assistant Director, Homebound Senior Citizen Visitation Program
Program Overview:        The Homebound Visitation Program provides friendly visits to homebound meals-on-wheels recipients.                                                      Visits are provided by volunteers.
Qualifications:   College graduate with a minimum of 4 years office experience
- Ability to multi task and work independently within a fast paced volunteer program
- Highly energetic, outgoing, warm personality
- Responsible and self-motivated
- Pleasant phone manner
- Excellent written and communicative skills
- Exceptional computer skills (including Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Publisher and accurate data entry).
 
Responsibilities:
Meeting new potential seniors and doing in-home assessments to see if they qualify for the program.
Interacting with volunteers via e-mail or phone to collect visit statistics and retain volunteers on a weekly basis. 
·       Answering calls and inquiries from seniors and volunteers.  Following up with issues raised.
Responsible for entire initial volunteer inquiry process until volunteer orientation with director.  Duties such as but not limited to answering questions about the program, mailing applications, following-up with goal of volunteer completing the application, checking reference, arranging for initial director / volunteer orientation, entering applications into MIS and Microsoft Access and filing.
Organizing ongoing birthday parties for seniors and recognition events for volunteers.  Duties such as but not limited to mailing invitations or other notifications of date, following up rsvp list by calls and or e-mails, placing orders for food and other necessary supplies for the party, arranging round trip transportation and facilitation for seniors and volunteers, helping the director in planning, organizing, staffing, setting up / dismantling and cleaning up.
·       Updating web postings on a weekly basis to recruit volunteers, i.e. Craigslist, volunteermatch.com, etc.
·       Assisting the director in recruiting new volunteers through presentations at local community networks, high schools, colleges and internet outreach.  Making packets and preparing material for these events.
Finding new community partners for recruitment of daytime volunteers.
Recording weekly visits into the MIS and Access data base.
Creating and mailing seasonal, anniversary, birthday and other cards to our homebound seniors and volunteers.
Attending Volunteer Fairs.
Performing clerical functions such as filing applications and any or all materials; photo copying, stapling, collating and or distributing printed materials.
Responsible for all tasks around mailing any or all materials to volunteers, seniors and contacts.
Additional tasks under the direction of director as needed.
 
Supervision: The Program Assistant reports directly to the Program Director.
 
Schedule: 35 Hour Work Week Monday - Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday 9:00AM – 2:00PM during winter months.  9:00 – 3:00 during summer months. 
 
Salary:  Between $25,000 - $27,000 per year commensurate on experience. Good benefits (including health insurance).
