As a Program Manager in the Improvement & Turnaround Team, Office of the Chief Information Officer, you will be part of a small group of seasoned professionals tasked with driving critical efforts across all lines of business. The group’s mandate includes:

1. Helping to accelerate critical projects
2. Assisting in turning around problem situations
3. Identifying, vetting, and pursuing cross-business opportunities involving technology

Team members assume hands-on leadership roles in these high priority initiatives and work closely with Senior Business and IT Management to set strategic direction, problem solve and drive execution. Key responsibilities include:

Program Leadership/Management
– Leading multiple efforts simultaneously across a broad range of functions, business and organizational units
– Working with business and technology stakeholders to define and drive strategy
– Identifying and bringing together the right resources, content experts and decision makers to meet goals
– Developing program charters, business cases, project plans, team structure, and governance models
– Taking on interim functional or business leadership roles to address gaps or take programs to the next level

Analysis & Problem Solving
– Driving clear analysis, logical structuring, and creative problem solving on critical issues
– Creating and applying appropriate conceptual frameworks to push thinking and expand solution sets
– Assessing risks, costs, and benefits of alternative decisions and approaches
– Designing processes and tools that yield sustainable improvement and return on investment
– Proactively identifying and addressing risks and opportunities relating to the firm as a whole or specific projects

Communication & Relationships
– Building relationships with senior IT and business management, internal clients, and external stakeholders
– Communicating recommendations and program status to impacted stakeholders, including senior management
– Clearly articulating program goals to stakeholders and collaborators
– Taking ownership of and resolving critical issues

Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who are able to demonstrate an extensive history in effectively managing large, complex projects and driving change, ideally in financial services and/or technology. Key qualifications include:

10-15+ years of relevant (e.g., consulting, banking, program management, etc.) experience
Strong understanding of business and management functions in financial services and technology
Experience with implementation of project management processes and methodologies in a large organization
Experience managing and working with geographically distributed and functionally diverse work-groups
Experience working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
Comfort with ambiguity and dynamically shifting priorities, timelines, and demands
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage in dialogue with senior management
Proven team management, collaboration, influencing, and negotiation skills
Ability to network with internal stakeholder community to foster positive and proactive collaboration
