Let me add to Debra's request, if I may.

 

As the recipient of a kidney donation, thanks to my brother David,  let me
tell what a great "mitzvah" you will be doing by finding out if you are a
potential match. The process is much simpler nowadays for both donor and
recipient than when we did it and dialysis is no picnic. After 2 yrs, 10
mos. and 9 days on it (but who was counting)there were numerous times I
wished it on Yasser Arafat.

 

As for the unnamed Gothamite, please feel free to contact me directly for
whatever support and encouragement you may need. I am there for you and your
family. And my wife will be available for your spouse or significant other.

Hi Gotham, 

 

I am the moderator for Fredslist and so I see many wonderful emails about
Gotham's magic wand.  One of our fellow members needs magic - more
specifically, one of our members needs a kidney. At this point, our member's
name is being withheld at their request for privacy. 

 

Here is some basic information.  While not yet on dialysis, our member is
being scheduled for a port - the step to prepare for dialysis. This will
happen very soon.  Our member's best prognosis is with a living donor before
dialysis starts. Unfortunately, a perfect match  has not worked out for our
fellow Gothamite. This member is blood type  O+.

 

Anyone who is sincerely interested and who believes they may be able to
donate or help point our member in the right direction can email me at
debbie at gothamnetworking.com and I will forward your contact information to
our member. 

 

Thank you. I know this is an unusual Fredslist request but then again Gotham
is unusually wonderful and if anyone can help, I believe it will come from a
Gotham member, or their contacts.
