[Fredslist] replacement boiler for 2 family home

Dear Along The Network:

 

So I am in my house for 35 years, come this December, and the boiler has
been there for at least 39 yrs.

 

Even though I bleed it regularly and check the water level, every winter I
dread it conking out just when we are having a record setting cold snap.

 

Anyone have any suggestions/stories about whether I should keep it going
until it dies a natural death or replace it now? And replace it with what?
