[Fredslist] environmental/real state valuation question

Gotham, I need some help.

A friend is interviewing a real estate valuation firm. The firm deals a lot
with environmental contamination litigation, like appraising properties
before and after an oil spill or catastrophe. They also deal with
brownfields, redevelopment, and conservation/preservation.

My friend doesn't have much experience with finance or real estate, but the
skills they are looking for match his background: assist with researching
different sites' local economies, compiling information and data, preparing
and writing reports. The only thing he is lacking is a knowledge of finance
and real estate concepts.

Any ideas of good concepts or key issues to include when he interviews? Any
good names of reputable websites in this field, etc. that you know of and is
respected?

Thanks

Thanks and best regards,

Marc W. Halpert
