[Fredslist] "David"m the Movie New York Premiere: 9.9.11

All of Gotham,
Joel Fendelman (disclosure: a relative to me), the writer and  director of 
the winner of Gotham's 2010 Film Festival, best film and best script  
awards, has made his short film, "David," into a full length film.  The  film, 
quite wonderful I might add, will have a world premier in September  2011.  See 
below for details and to watch a trailer of the  film.

"David"  is the story of Da’ud (Muatasem Mishal), an eleven year old  
Muslim boy growing up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. As the son of  the local Imam, Da’
ud has to juggle his father’s (Maz  Jobrani) high expectations, the dynamics 
of a conservative  family, and being different - even from his peers in the  
Muslim community. Through an innocent act of good faith,  Da’ud 
inadvertently befriends Yoav (Binyomin Shtaynberger)  who mistakes him for being Jewish 
and accepts him as a close  friend. Unable to resist the joy of a 
camaraderie that he  has never felt before, Da’ud is drawn into a complicated  
situation based upon both the best of intentions, and  youthful deceit.
