Sounds wonderful and a good time of year-not in the heat of the summer!

Since everyone is touting the High line today. I thought I would let everyone know that my students at NJIT this fall will be designing The International Electronic Music Center In collaboration with Gotham's own Joel Chadabe and his Electronic Music Foundation. We have selected 4 possible sites along the high line which the students will have to analyze and select the site they feel to be most appropriate for the project.

Maybe later in the fall I can give a tour of the high line to interested Gothamites. I have done this a few times highlighting the wonderful architecture along the urban garden path. Now with the new extension it adds numerous development opportunities for this part of the city, it will be great to see how the city grows around this green corridor.

All the best,

Josh

As I'd mentioned to Fred:

My family walked the High Line a couple of years ago a couple of weeks after the initial (southern) half opened, and then we walked the northern (new) half last weekend, a couple of weeks after it opened. I think it's a true NY gem, and I keep telling people about it. My parents are going this month (I reassured my mother that there are elevators at 30th St. and in the middle of the lower section, because she's having trouble with stairs, as she turns 80 this month). The entire thing is about a mile long.

Here's a couple of links explaining what the High Line is (a unique park), if you're not yet fully aware of it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Line_(New_York_City)

Hmmmmm...is Gotham High Line going to be our next nascent group?

Best,

David
